The true story behind Black Friday [INFOGRAPHIC] 

Black Friday is the time of the year in Northern America when shoppers can avail themselves of great deals on products like laptops, television sets, toys, clothes, and many other things. 

While there is a general belief that ‘Black Friday’ is the day after Thanksgiving in the United States. According to history.com, Black Friday started when stores would drop prices low to take their bottom lines from being in the red to black.

Today shoppers blow much of their money on discounts when they’re doing holiday shopping. Historically the start of this day was much darker. 

With that said, let us dive into a brief history of Black Friday:

Due to Covid-19, we find ourselves in similar situations where businesses are trying to get out of the red and back in the black.

However, as a society there has been a strong push for material happiness for the last few decades, so much so we often forget or in some cases do not even know how these traditions started.
