It is interesting to see the movies which are based in one location. It adds a unique blend on how we can observe the actions and emotions of all the characters being played in the movie in one particular scene. The plot gets even better when sometimes every one has a different set of opinion on a situation like in the movie Lifeboat or The Breakfast Club.

Directed by Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire), this movie is one of the best survival drama movie with strong performance from James Franco. The movie tells the story of an explorer Aaron Ralston (James Franco) who during his Utah canyon exploration journey gets stuck in the canyon when a large boulder falls on his arm while climbing.

Over 127 hours stuck like this, he considers his life choice and amputates his arm. The movie is filmed in one location where Ralston tells his life story and with the scenes of flashbacks that led him to a decision that he wants to live, and the journey starts to amputate his arm.

2. The Breakfast Club

This 1980s classic movie starring Anthony Michael hall and Molly Ringwald is a classic comedy/drama where five students from different backgrounds bonds over their struggles while on a Saturday detention. The one location-set movie is based in a classroom and gives the feeling of comedy, sorrow, and romance all in the 100-minute lenght.

3. Lifeboat

The 1944 Alfred Hitchcock’s world war classic thriller is set in one boat where a group of individuals mostly Americans and British are stranded on a boat in a ocean after a naval confrontation with a German warship.

The plot gets even better when the lifeboat passengers save a man in the water who turns out to be a German officer, and tension increases on boat which leads to gradually decreasing population in the vessel as conflict increases between both parties.

4. The Guilty

What if you are a 911 call responder and you receive a frantic call from a lady at midnight saying she needs help and all the responders in the city are attending a major incident.

Same is the situation in the movie when Joe Baylor portrayed by Jake Gyellenhaal in the movie trying to unearth the situation of the distressed caller who dialed 911. The movie is based out in a room where 911 dispatchers are working to save lives and is mostly Jake talking on the phone with distressed caller and the thrill it generates as he tries to uncover the truth throughout the movie.

5. 12 Angry Men

One of the best courtroom drama movies, 12 Angry Men is a must-watch. The movie is based in one room where 12 jurors, The Chosen Ones according to The Lincoln Lawyer, are gathered to discuss the case of a person who is awaiting murder trial. The film shows the tension that goes in the jury room and how some of the jurors think before releasing their verdict. The film’s popularity has even spanned into many theatrical dramas which have been created in few decades. The movie’s cast includes legendary actors Henry Fonda and Lee J Cobb.
