Created by Gideon Raff, The Spy is one of the best Israeli Biography/Drama show based on incredible true story of prominent Mossad agent Eli Cohen who while undercover in Syria, infiltrated to the highest ranks in the Syrian Government, including the country’s president. The show has a stellar cast of international actors with Sacha Baron Cohen playing the lead in the show and is six episodes long with one season.
Jamtara (India)
One of the best Indian dramas on the platform, the show is an absolute must-watch, especially for the ones who are interested in crime/drama. Inspired by true events, the Netflix crime/drama delves into the lives of two cousins who along with their school dropout friends run a successful phishing scam from Jamtara, a remote Indian village in the state of Jharkhand.
Crash Landing on You (South Korea)
Landing illegally in a foreign country is always scary. In worst case, you have to stay hidden and escape before the government catches you on the basis of espionage and imprisons you. It could be even worse if it’s North Korea. The same is the story with this South Korean romantic drama where a South Korean heiress gets into an accident during paragliding and has to land in North Korea and meets an army officer who falls in love with her and is protecting and hiding her.
Fauda (Israel)
The four seasons long Israeli spy drama is one of the best International show on Netflix with critical acclamation from many publications, including The Guardian for the actor’s performance and strong plot. It has even won the Israeli Academy Awards too.
The spy/drama tells the story of former Israeli Defense Force soldier Doron Kavillio, who has to quit retirement and return to the military to hunt down a state enemy whom he thought was dead but turns out to be alive.
Things go awry even further when the search team’s cover is blown and sets a chain of chaotic events which leads to the government deciding to initiate a manhunt and kill the enemy. The show is truly remarkable as it shows both sides of the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.
Lupin (France)
The French mystery/drama starring Omar Sy as the lead is one of the most popular international show currently on the platform. The show tells the story of Assane Diop (Omar Sy), who inspired by the adventures of master thief Arsene Lupin is on a mission to seek vengeance against a wealthy family who framed his late father for theft twenty-five years ago.
